Hello one last time fron Vietnam.
I am leaving tonight at midnight and arriving at JFK at 10:30 Sunday.
24 hour trip home. with the time difference...
I am so over saturated that my mind feels totally blown. Its hard for me to think clearly and I have so many images and smells and ideas in my head that its hard to piece them together.
Vietnam was great but I need to come home and detox from all the smog and business of the culture here.
I am hoping to sleep for all 16 hours of the flight back... but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen.
I miss my boy and my cat.
Today was supposed to be a free time day, but it was the opposite. We are going to an art gallery opening tonight and we went to museums all day, so i am very burnt out.
I will post pictures once I get home.
I wish i had something inspiring and quotable to say at the end of this trip, but i don't. Nothing in my head makes any sort of sense. This is a place that I am glad I visited but would never live in for any extended period of time.
Life here is too normal: even though the numbers and figures from the country reflect its impoverished nature, the people seem far from being unhappy. Thats how it is every place in the world nowadays which leads me to believe numbers lie, a fact I already knew.
If you come here, go to Hoi An for four days. Pack an extra suitcase and get a new wardrobe for 400$ that will last you 10 years. Hoi An is by far my favorite, although, as I had expected from the beginning, Ha Long Bay is the most beautiful place in the world.
I hope you all enjoyed reading my words, and will continue to browse this pagewhen I go to Kenya.
Love from Vietnam.
