So!
I am in France (again). Taking a class on French society and politics.
So far I have been to only places I have gone to before with my parents or on my own. I'm not a big museum goer and so places like Musee D'orsay are "if you've seen one Monet you've seen them all" for me.
Anyways, more exciting: I got into the American University of Paris and I will be moving to France next year.
My French (of special interest to my mother) is better than everyone else's except the professor (luckily). I have of course been taking it for nine years, two full years at the college level. I am particularly tired of it, but Charles refuses to speak to me in english on the phone and so my listening comprehension is improving.
Charles is fine. We're doing the just friends thing, and thats fine with me. He's happy I am moving here because he thinks France will be good for my spirit- likely false as I am never happy to stay in one place for more than a few days.
More exciting in my mind is the prospect of attending graduate school in France, rather than the U.S. because I know I will master the language.
The letter from AUP said they are particularly interested in my research topic on globalization, and I am hoping to do most of the ground research this summer.
Anyways, I must be off. I have to go to fashion show today and I must eat. I've been sick for a few days and not wanting food. That's right. SICK. But I'm fine now. I always get sick in other places - Its really not a big deal.
I need an eclair et soupe l' ognion pour dejuner. Notice how the eclair comes before the soup on my to do list.
A bientot!
