I worked on two projects while in Morocco with the group. The project with the tailors was reminiscent of what I did in Vietnam.
Some women had set up a school to teach other girls how to be seamstresses. However the graduates were having a very difficult time finding work after completing their training. As a result the women then set up a shop to sell the wares of these women (which was everything from embroidered table clothes to wedding dresses).
The shop was to have its grand opening on the 15th of March but was postponed due to trouble getting the proper paperwork from the government. However we were still able to help them create publications and other print materials for their grand opening. In addition to business cards, signage, flyers, and posters we created an informational website for them to share information, directions and receive orders.
These women were incredibly talented and their work was beautifully constructed. I recommend finding their store (near Musee Batha) if you ever find yourself in Fes, Morocco.
